"I did feel a little rusty out there, we had a week of practice early in the week, but it came off as we got closer to game day. I think everyone was a bit rusty," said Davie to Big Red Report on Sunday.
"I really didn't play that much because I hurt my Achilles earlier in the week, but I had two catches, actually one got called back, so just the one catch for a touchdown."
Davie's approach this week was simple. Get the most out of it he could.
"I sort of went into it thinking it would be an extra game I got to play in my high school career," said Davie. "I felt like now that since I'm coming in to Nebraska a little bit later, I'm probably going to red-shirt this upcoming season. So, I took it as an extra game, catching the touchdown felt great."
As reported on this site about three weeks ago, Davie is need of a ½ credit by NCAA standards. At the time, Coach Cotton was assisting him in finding the class.
"I got it. It's actually an independent study from UNL that I'm taking. It should only take four to four and a half weeks to finish, so I'm going to try really hard to get in there for the July second session. I'm going to try to make it there.
"I'm going to be for sure there in the fall though. It NCAA approved, so it's not going to be one of those things where we are waiting weeks upon weeks if I'm good to go. It's not a matter of if, but when I will get to camp."
