Meet Irving MacArthur (TX) 2013 safety Taion Sells.
A 5-foot-10 and 170-pound safety prospect that last year finished with 50 tackles, one interception and one-forced fumble on the season.
Did we mention that he is former Nebraska return specialist Joe Walker's nephew?
"He played in the late 90s at Nebraska," said Sells. "He was a safety/corner and also returned kicks and punts. I actually just left from his house. He's just working these days, he's doing a little training from time to time."
With strong football role models around him, Sells has impressed college coaches coming through during the spring.
"It's been good; I have a lot of schools looking at me. Oklahoma would be recruiting me probably the hardest, also Texas A&M, Notre Dame, Kansas State, Oregon State, Baylor, and schools like that," said the soon to be junior. "I don't really have anyone necessarily sticking out. I guess OU. It will be my fourth time going up there when I go to their camp (today)."
Another camp Sells was looking to possibly attend was Nebraska's this week. While it appears completely out of the question now, the 2013 prospect definitely had it on his mind at one point.
"I am thinking that it probably won't happen. It's soft of far. I don't want to go up there and tire myself out with other camps I committed to, but I do like Nebraska," said Sells. "It's mostly because my uncle went there and it's a good school. They have a winning program. He's really staying out of my recruitment, but if you ask him he wants me to go there."
Sells claims a 4.4 flat forty and says his best time in the 100 meters is 11.0.
"This summer is all about improvement," said Sells. "There is always room for improvement in your game. I'm really working on everything. The biggest I guess would be I'm trying to get stronger and faster. I want to lead my defense."
He's got that covered so far, he has already been named a captain for the 2011 season.
