Cotton after first session in Lincoln

Sam Cotton the TE/DE from Lincoln (Nebr.) Southeast was in Lincoln the last couple of days for the first session of Nebraska's football camp. Cotton was pleased with his effort on the field, but admittedly said that he could have tested better. Does Cotton think he could pull in a Nebraska offer?

Nebraska hosted the younger brother of two current Huskers and Nebraska coach this week in session one of football camp. Sam Cotton said that he will be back for the second session.

"I was there for all of first session," Cotton said. "I will be back for second session tomorrow. I will do the pads part of the second session and won't touch the ball."

Cotton said that he worked on the offensive side of the ball in the first session and will move over to defense tomorrow.

"I worked out as a tight end in the first session. I thought that I did pretty good, but you never know about that though. I will work as a defensive end in the second session and will be there on Friday and Saturday."

Cotton said that he thought in the tight end drills, but said that things could have been better for him when it came to testing.

"I thought that I did well in one on ones in the receiving part. I ran terrible. I was a little sore from basketball camp last well, two games the day before and then I lifted."

Cotton said that he came in at 6-foot-4 and 230-pounds and wasn't given his exact 40-yard dash time. Cotton had some high praise for another player at camp at the same position.

"Drew Ott from Giltner is a really good athlete. Mike Shoff was there and was in the fastest man competition as an offensive lineman. He is super fast and quick for a big guy."
