Walk-on spot for Dzuris

The first session of the Nebraska football camp sounds like it was a success. There aren't any new scholarship offers that anyone knows about, but there was an offer that was made by Nebraska to Ross Dzuris. Dzuris, from Plattsmouth (Nebr.), left Lincoln yesterday knowing that if he wanted to be a Husker that there was a spot for him.

There are some misconceptions about summer. It's supposed to be about rest and taking it easy, but Ross Dzuris is doing the exact opposite of that. Dzuris has been to two camps since Sunday and goes to his third this week later today.

"Ross has been to two camps in the last several days and will be going to Kansas today," Bob Dzuris said. "This past Sunday at Wyoming and was just at Nebraska."

Bob Dzuris said that Ross performed well out at Wyoming. Wyoming has another one-day camp this week and told Ross and his father that they would get in touch with him later in the week.

"Ross competed very well at Wyoming and looked very good. Wyoming has one more one day camp this week and they will be back to Ross by next week."

Just yesterday Ross was in Lincoln for the first session. Mr. Dzuris said that position coaches on both sides of the ball said that Ross stood out and as a result an opportunity was offered to Dzuris.

"Yesterday at Nebraska Ross had an excellent day. At the end of the camp Coach Barney Cotton told Bo that Ross was one of the top pass rushers at the camp.

"Vince Marrow told Bo that Ross was one of the top tight ends at the camp as well. Bo gave us about 20-30 minutes of his time and asked Ross if he would consider walking on."
