Grigsby: "I Would Commit"

Omaha North athlete Terry Grigsby has had a busy week. It started with what supposed to be a one-day camp at Nebraska on Wednesday. After a solid performance, where the wide receiver was asked to work with the defensive backs midway through the sessions, Coach Pelini asked Grigsby if he could come back Friday.

On Saturday, after taking the ACT all morning long, Grigsby talked with Big Red Report about how the Friday session went.

"I was happy with it. I started to get a little frustrated at times. They were throwing defensive techniques at me that I have never done before, but it was good," said the Omaha North product. "When I first got there, Coach Dobson their strength coach reworked me out. I did my 40 again for them. He wouldn't tell me my time, but I was confident with it."

So what position did he workout with on Friday?

"During some of the 1-on-1s, I still worked with receivers because Coach Cotton wanted me to go on offense again. I caught my first six passes and Coach Fisher said he really-really liked me. But, he understood that Coach Raymond really liked me as well," said Grigsby. "So with the second session, I went over with the defensive backs. During 1-on-1s with the DBs, I had an interception and a pass breakup. I think I did pretty well, I learned a lot in the two sessions that I can take back with my team in the fall."

After the sessions, Grigsby talked with multiple coaches on the Huskers' staff, including the headman himself.

"Coach Pelini and Coach Cotton were telling me how it was a really good thing that I came to the camp and back for another day," said Grigsby. "They saw me do stuff that they didn't realize I could do. Coach Cotton is my recruiting coordinator for my region, so we will see what happens.

"I would have been surprised to get an offer before, but now knowing they really like me and are interested in me, I wouldn't be surprised if I got an offer."

With the Huskers possibly offering down the road or at least evaluating Grigsby heavily, Big Red Report asked the hypothetical to the athlete. What would you do if they did offer?

"It's a good tough question. I think that I would probably commit, even if they offer during the season or later this summer. I want to keep my options open, but I would really like playing at Nebraska on either side of the ball. I would commit if offered."

Grigsby reported a 4.55 forty run on Wednesday. Last season, he caught 38 balls for three touchdowns.
