"I am happy to get back to work," Yates said. "I know that I am going to put the work in to get ready for my senior season.
"I am going to work on my leadership, being more vocal on the field, and also am looking to increase my ability in any way possible to help me on the field."
Neal says that he is into a double-digit offer total, but he hasn't given summer trips and camps a lot to this point. He is looking for a place where he can be comfortable when it comes to his decision.
"I am not too sure on any trips right now. I have around 10 or 11 offers at this point. I am looking for a school where I am very comfortable and I know that I can spend four or five years there."
Neal has been playing inside linebacker in college and has been told that he could play either inside or outside at the next level. He has the tools to do, but according to him he might have to add some size.
"I have been playing inside as a MIKE mostly. I am very balanced, very versatile. I can run with the running backs out of the backfield, stop the run and also get after the quarterback on the blitz.
"A lot of schools are telling me outside linebacker, but a lot of schools are telling me that I could play either one. If I played inside at the next level I know that I will have to put on a few more pounds."
The Husker staff was by to see Neal during the evaluation period and extended an offer. The Nebraska coach and Neal's coach discussed taking a visit this fall.
"I got the offer from Nebraska about a month ago. Coach John Papuchis was here at the school and he offered me right there. He told my coach that I had the offer and that he wanted me to come and check out their campus."
The Huskers are one of 10 or 11 teams to offer Neal, but he likes the school and the tradition at Nebraska. He doesn't think that he can get out to Nebraska this summer, but that opens it up for this fall.
"It's a good school. They have a good tradition. I want to get to know the coaches a little bit better before I take a trip there.
"It's a little far so I would take an official visit there and get a good look there. I would say that I am planning on taking an official visit to Nebraska."
