Davie will join Blackshirts

Incoming freshman Daniel Davie will be switched to defense, according to the high school wide receiver's Twitter page.

Oh how the media loves Twitter.

We didn't need to wait until Saturday to hear from Nebraska head coach Bo Pelini about Daniel Davie moving to defense. The incoming freshman broke the news last night with a 140 characters or less.

"It looks like I'm bouta be a #blackshirt."

Davie, who has had an interesting summer just getting academically qualified, put up 1800 yards from scrimmage last season at Beatrice.

The Scout.com 3-star product has not played any organized sports since early November. He missed his senior year of track to focus on his grades and to rehab a shoulder surgery.

It doesn't come as a major shock that Davie is switching to defense. Scout.com actually projected him to be a better safety or corner at the next level.

The move could be in part due to All-American cornerback Charles Jackson's pending academic situation with the NCAA. The Nebraska signee is the only player from the 2011 class that is not qualified as of yet.
