It's the time of the camp where the grind begins to set in for players. Their bodies become sore, their minds become tired, and physically it's hard labor.

"I think it happens right away, but it's about how you handle it. I think what gets your through it is the guys in the locker room," said Will Compton after practice. Big Red Report will have more with the junior tomorrow.

Missing from today's first session in complete pads was Kyler Reed, Marcel Jones, and Jeremiah Sirles. None of them are signicant injuries and Coach Pelini expects them all back by the weekend.

The head coach was disappointed with his team after practice number five.

"Today, on all sides of the football, we didn't play up to our standards," Pelini said. "I didn't like today; I've liked everything up to today. Hopefully we take today as a learning experience. There was just too much inconsistency.

"Offensively, we've struggled, because obviously we are ahead defensively," Pelini said. "That's how it's always worked; you should be ahead defensively. We have some veterans, some guys who understand what we're doing, there were just sometimes we didn't show good composure out there as a football team. That's part of the deal, though, and hopefully it's a learning process."
