"The summer went pretty good," Schany said. "I went to quite a few camps and now I am getting into the actual football season. We started August 8th."
Schany said that his workouts went about as well as they could. The fact that Schany worked so hard this summer will help Blair live up to some high expectations.
"I think that my summer workouts went pretty good. I got in there about as much as I could. Blair is rated #3 in Class B so we should be pretty good this year."
Schany sort of did camps in parts. There were some early ones and there were some later ones. Two of the last ones he hit he said that he did really well at them. He is still sitting on the same seven offers right now though.
There could be a couple of schools that seem the closest to the next offers for Schany. He believes that both could be the next school to offer after he sends them some film.
"I think that I did really well at Kansas State so they could be close to offering. I think that Kansas State and Iowa could be the closest to offering me right now."
One of the benefits to getting out this summer is not needing to immediately set up official visits back to some schools. "I think that I am going to take an official visit to Tulane and maybe Ohio. I have already seen Iowa and Kansas State. I think Tulane and Ohio for sure."
The communication between Schany and Nebraska had been pretty steady throughout the summer. The 6-foot-2 and 210-pound linebacker was told by Nebraska to not commit anywhere right away initially. A new linebacker commitment for NU might change that though.
"Yeah, I haven't spoken to them in a couple of weeks. I think that it's kind of the same, but they might have gotten another linebacker commit so there could be less of a chance for me."
This is wait and see time for Schany. If there's one thing that he's not scared to do it's send out film because that's when you can really see his talent. "I am really waiting to see what happens until after my first two games, send out the film and see what happens after that."
