Things we learned from lunch with Bo

It was Labor Day, but the media joined Bo Pelini on Monday to get the latest on the Nebraska football team. Come inside to find out what we learned on this day.

1.) Injury report sounds promising…
Coach Pelini said Will Compton is probably day-to-day. There were no breaks or structure damage in his foot, which caused him to miss much of the game on Saturday. Also, Alfonzo Dennard is reportedly getting close -whatever that means? No timetable yet, but I wouldn't be surprised to see him out there this weekend.

2.) That wasn't the best Taylor Martinez on Saturday…
Immediately fans started to question Taylor Martinez's performance on Saturday. How could a quarterback be light years ahead of last year, when he throws 50% against a FCS school?

"I think he had a good camp, and I don't think he had his best day Saturday. I know there are a couple that he would want back," said Pelini. "I think he has progressed a long way as far as that is concerned."

It wasn't the best day in the world for Taylor, he will get better.

3.) Teammates not surprised with Quincy Enunwa's performance…
Brandon Kinnie said it best on Monday…"if you look at him, he's the definition of Tarzan in the way he looks."

Kinnie feels that he's going to be a great player for Nebraska down the road and I agree.

4.) Fresno State is no slouch….
Fresno State might have lost on Saturday to Cal, but this team will be ready to give Nebraska everything.

"I think Fresno State is very athletic. They're very aggressive. They're a physical team that is well-coached," said Bo Pelini. "History shows that they give a lot of people problems. The venue isn't going to bother them. They've played in a lot of different places against a lot of good football teams. They've held their own and won a lot of football games. We have to step it up this week and I think our team knows that."
