Taiwan Johnson is one of three known official visitors this coming weekend and that list could continue to grow for the Washington game. Johnson is having a solid senior year, but the box score isn't a great reflection of that. He's just trying to get better every week on the field.
"The season is going good," Johnson said. "If you look at my stats they aren't all that impressive, but I really haven't played beyond the third quarter. I am pretty satisfied with what I have done.
"I am just on the field trying to get better trying to get my technique better and working on the little things on the field before district play. I am working on getting things right that can win you or lose you a play."
Johnson is getting ready to start taking some official visits with the first one coming this weekend. This weekend Johnson will head north to Nebraska. He's looking forward to seeing a new area.
"I am going to Nebraska this weekend on September 17th for the Washington game. I can't wait to see their campus and the area in general. I have never been to Nebraska before.
"It's going to be a fun and exciting trip for me to get away from this area, region and see something new. I have been around here my whole life. I want to see what it's like in Nebraska."
Besides just seeing the area and the school the game day experience is something that Johnson wants to see as well. He's only seen games at schools in Texas so seeing an out of state school to compare the previous experiences will be good for him to do.
"I want to see game day in Nebraska. I have only see Texas' schools game day so I think that it will be fun to get out and see what it's like in some other places like Nebraska."
Johnson is actually from California originally and that might be one of the reasons why distance might not play a huge role in his college decision. Johnson is focused more on which school is the best for him regardless of location.
"It's one of those things where it really depends on the school. Doesn't matter if the best situation is in the state of Texas or it's not doesn't really matter. It's just about the best situation."
