Wolfe checks out Lincoln

This past weekend was a good one for Nebraska when it comes to recruiting. The official visitors rated the Nebraska experience very high and as a result one of the official visitors ended up committing to Nebraska the day after he returned home. There were also a number of unofficial visitors in town including Kai Wolfe from Alma (Nebr.).

Kai Wolfe, a two-way lineman from Alma (Nebr.), was up in Lincoln this past weekend for the Washington game. Wolfe came away impressed with the effort in the trenches on offense.

"I like how the offense ran the ball well against Washington," Wolfe said. "I also liked how in the fourth quarter the power that they ran so many times to the right side. That was impressive."

Wolfe has actually been able to make his way to Lincoln a couple of times this season already. He was there this past weekend and the first game of the season. Wolfe says that he's just trying to soak it all up when it comes to recruiting.

"This was actually my second time up there. I went up for Chattanooga. I have just been trying to take them all in and take the opportunity to be spoiled by it. Not everyone gets a chance to do this.

"I also have been paying close attention to the players and the speed of the game from down there. You don't get a very good understanding of that from sitting up in the stands.

Alma is off to a perfect 3-0 start. Wolfe is anchoring both the offensive and the defensive lines. Wolfe says that recruiting is going well with a lot of invites to various schools. However, he's only been to see Nebraska so far.

"Right now we are 3-0. I am playing both sides of the ball. Recruiting is going good. I have been getting a lot of invites to games, but so far I have been only able to make it up to Nebraska.

"We are looking at going up to South Dakota, North Dakota State, South Dakota State and Iowa State here in the coming weeks. We are just looking at dates when it might work to make those trips."

Wolfe is still looking for his first offer. He doesn't know who is close to offering, but he knows that you need to keep working to get that offer.

"I don't know. I just think that you need to start some where. An offer is an offer and right now and I don't have any, but I am working really hard trying to get a school to hand that offer out."

The discussions with Nebraska about an offer or potentially walking on next year haven't taken place. Wolfe isn't sure if those types of talk happen so early in the season or a little later.

"We haven't really talked that much with Nebraska about it. We haven't talked about walking on yet. I don't know if that type of talk takes place now or later in the year.

"I am not sure when I will be back to Lincoln again. I get the invites to come to the game that week. I got the Washington invite last Monday. I will know more later."
