Taking visits

Possibly the top player in the state of Nebraska seems destined to be playing his college football at an out of state school unless something changes. Jake Schany, a standout linebacker from Blair (Nebr.), has a handful of DI offers but after one official visit and another one coming up Schany might be getting close to a commitment. Is Nebraska in the picture at all?

Jake Schany will be taking his second official visit next weekend. The standout linebacker from Blair (Nebr.) has been on one official visit and will take his second visit next weekend.

"I haven't been to Nebraska for a game," Schany said. "I went to Ohio over September 10th and 11th for an official visit and I go to Tulane for my second official on October 8th."

There were a number of in-state players that had attended the first three games for Nebraska. Schany said that he received the invites.

"I probably won't go to any, but yes I have been invited to some of the recent home games as an unofficial visitor."

Schany says that recruiting with the schools that have offered him have been taking up his time. More than that, a visit to Nebraska might be kind of pointless considering he might be making a decision soon.

"I am staying busy and checking out the schools that have offered me. I will probably make my decision after the Tulane visit so I am not sure I will get down to Lincoln to see a game."

The door might be open for Nebraska to come in late with an offer on Schany. Having one earlier would be ideal, but an offer late might beat never. "Yeah, I guess that it would make a difference (if Nebraska offered late)."
