Foster: "Something to think about"

D.J. Foster leaves Lincoln with a excellent review of his visit with the Huskers.

Scottsdale (Ariz.) Saguaro 4-star athlete/running back D.J. Foster had two schools sticking out in his mind before his visit to Lincoln this weekend, Saturday night might have changed all of that.

"I had a blast, I really did. I wasn't expecting all this. It was a great time," said Foster. "I have never really been this far away from home and the west coast. It was just shocking how close everyone is out here and the small town feel. I was really impressed.

"I have already taken an official to Arizona State. I go to Oregon next weekend, those are kind of my top two, but I definitely have more to think about after this visit to Nebraska. It was unexpected and opened my eyes up a bit."

Foster, who will leave for Arizona at 6 A.M. from Omaha on Sunday morning, was asked by Big Red Report to rate his visit.

"I would say my visit was a nine. The people were great and I really got to know a lot about the program from the coaching staff," said Foster. "The facilities are great, the expectations for football players are really high and I enjoyed it. They really also care about academics, so I know they take care of their football players...The streak of consecutive packed houses is impressive. They sellout every game."

Foster is being recruited by Nebraska as an athlete, but does know an athlete classification is in the cards, especially with the "good young running backs" in the fold.

"I was surprised they didn't have more rotation with the backs. I know they have a bunch of young good backs, so I thought they would rotate a little more. But, he really handled his own in there," said Foster. "It was pretty impressive, they gave him a lot of touches. I can tell the running back position is really used a lot in their offense."

The Arizona product reports he had a good time with other recruits – quarterback Devin Fuller and safety Jordan Diggs.

Currently Foster stands at 5-foot-11, 185-pounds. As a junior, he rushed for 1,421 yards and 22 touchdowns - catching 43 passes for 740 yards and four scores.
