Emerging Quarterback-Nick Patton

A lot has been written on quarterbacks Chase Patton and Darrell Jackson in the MO-KAN region, but another name has now surfaced. In fact, Winfield, Kansas quarterback Nick Patton is beginning to give many the impression he may be the best quarterback in the area.

"Nebraska and Missouri each offered after watching five plays on film," Head Coach Doug Martin said. "He has also been offered by Kansas State, Kansas, Oklahoma State, and Wyoming. Coach Chuck Long from Oklahoma has been in contact, and they are suppose to be calling again tomorrow. Tennessee and Michigan State have begun to show serious interest as well."

Patton, at 6'3 185 (4.6), has been drawing some wonderful comparsions in the early stages of his recruitment.

"Coach Hill at Missouri stated his junior film is better than Brad Smith's. Coach Synder said he is the top quarterback prospect at Kansas State. Coach Turner Gill of Nebraska said only Robbie Reid from Houston may be better at this time, but they are sending Coach Solich tomorrow to show how badly they want Nick."
