Lincoln, NE - Jordan Westerkamp has been to Lincoln for game day before, eventually he will be part of many of them. But his official visit this weekend for Nebraska's contest against Ohio State will always be remembered.
"I would say I loved it even more. Every time I get back there, it knocks me off my feet," said Westerkamp, who visited with many family members. "I love the place so much. I can't wait to be actually a part of it all the time.
"I had about 13 family members in for the visit. They were all just really wanting to see the place. My dad has five brother and sisters, ten total, so I had some uncles, aunts, and cousins just really wanting to see the place. There eyes were wide open and they have never seen a place like this, so they were excited. They were dying to come to town."
When Westerkamp visited for the Huskers match-up against Fresno State a few weeks ago, one of his main projects was to help recruit Florida 4-star safety Jordan Diggs. Diggs was in town again this weekend with Westerkamp and the Illinois wide receiver continued his pitch.
"I talked to Diggs a lot, the quarterback Devin Fuller, and I talked with T.J. Neal a bit as well. Those guys really seemed to like it and had a good time," said Westerkamp. "I don't know how close they are to making a decision or anything, but I really am going to try to stay in contact with them. If were were able to get those guys, this recruiting class will be really special.
"The first half was a little slow offensively last night, but the second was unbelievable. They never gave up and it was the biggest comeback in school history. It was great to see them with that fight. There were a lot of recruits there that saw that, which I think was really good. I hope they can this win and use it as motivation the rest of the way out."
