Diggs staying patient

It might not be what Husker fans want to hear, but Florida 4-star safety Jordan Diggs is trying to stay patient. He wants to be solid in his decision.

Lincoln, NE - Talk to Florida 4-star safety Jordan Diggs and you can tell he likes Nebraska. He likes the Huskers a lot. But Diggs also realizes that his decision will affect the rest of his life. He wants to get it right.

It's not the Nebraska coaching staff pressuring Diggs the most to make a decision, it's Husker commitments like Michael Rose and Jordan Westerkamp. Every chance they get, they remind the Island Coast HS product how much he's needed in Lincoln.

"(Laughter) Those guys are wanting me to commit really bad. (Laughter) I just want to solid when I do it," said Diggs. "I keep telling them, 'just wait for me, just wait for me.' I just really want to be solid and not commit to early. I don't want to have any regrets about not visiting schools, especially since a lot of schools want me. There are a lot of great opportunities out there and want to be solid with any school I choose."

Diggs took his second visit to Lincoln this weekend, this time on an official visit. He does have other trips in store down the road (click here to find out where), but sounds likes a player who's level of excitement for the program is growing by the minute.

"It was good overall, it was just like last time. It was everything I expected it to be. It was a great visit," said Diggs. "Definitely my first time I felt rushed, I was bouncing all over the place. This time I was able to chill, take my time with everything and really take it all in. I was able to spend some time with Coach Bo and Coach Raymond and really get to know them on a deeper level.

"They were basically telling me how well I fit into the scheme and their plan for me if I would come there. They really could see me in their program and feel that I would excel. I was also able to ask them some questions I always wanted to know, like their plans for me. Any questions I asked, they answered. It was nice to get to know them on that type of level. It was more person to person, not necessarily coach to player."

So what did he think of the Huskers' school record comeback victory?

"It was a great game. With them coming back, I give all the credit to the fans. They really came together and helped them rally back. It was awesome, the game day atmosphere is awesome. It was the same as my unofficial. Those fans are crazy. It doesn't matter who they are playing, it's Nebraska that's what you get."
