Now a junior, the 6-foot-10, 235-pound forward's progression is continuing. Through six practices, he looks like a different player down low. Something he partly credits to new assistant coach and post guru Jeremy Cox.
"I think the biggest thing is he has confidence, he thinks he can be an elite level player," said Cox to Big Red Report. "He feels he can play on any stage now, whether it's in the Big Ten or nationally."
Ask Nebraska head coach Doc Sadler about Ubel's progression and he will tell you it was only a matter of time.
"I think Brandon consistency brings effort and attitude everyday to practice, when you do that your going to continue to get better," said Sadler. "Brandon is going to be consistence, he's going to be your hardest worker, when he feels good or bad. That is his life...It's why he will be successful in life."
