QB Kirk Cousins -- He is now the winningest QB in school history with 22 wins -- one more than Jeff Smoker. His 290-yard, three-touchdown, no-interception night upstaged Wisconsin QB Russell Wilson, who threw two picks and likely saw his Heisman hopes end.
The MSU players got a pre-game talk from Gene Washington, who was the team's honorary captain and was added to the Ring of Fame at Spartan Stadium before the game. Washington, an All-American WR on MSU's 1965-66 national title teams, was elected to the College Football Hall of Fame in May.
--With sophomore DE Will Gholston suspended for the Wisconsin game, Denzel Drone took his place in the starting lineup. Mark Dantonio also mentioned the possibility of taking the redshirt off talented freshman DE Shilique Calhoun, but he did not play.
--Senior WR Keshawn Martin said after the game that he was not fully healthy all season until the Michigan game, which came after a bye week. Martin had two touchdowns in that game and two more against Wisconsin.
--Junior DE Tyler Hoover continues to be in limbo with a rib/back injury. If he doesn't play the rest of the season, Hoover could apply for a sixth year after the 2012 season.
