"It was a pretty good deal," Watkins said. "I came out through a banner in a Clemson covered golf cart announcing my commitment. It was a real good night."
Watkins, from Forest City (N.C.) Chase high school is good friends with Jonathan Bullard from Shelby (N.C.) Crest. The two had made a number of visits together and planned on seeing Nebraska for the Michigan State game.
"I have talked to Jon and he wants me to go along on the trip with him. I am going to have to see. I am still thinking about it. I am going to have to talk about it with my parents and everything. I don't know yet, right off the bat."
Both Watkins and Bullard have games that Friday night so both will have to leave out early in the morning on Saturday. They would have to fly into Omaha, likely having to connect at least once, and then drive from Omaha to Lincoln in traffic to make it to the game.
"We both play on Friday night. I really haven't thought about it. He said that he was going to go for sure that Saturday morning, really early. It would be a long day traveling out there."
Watkins believes that he will know for sure by either late tomorrow or by Wednesday at the latest if he will take the visit to Nebraska. Stay tuned to BigRedReport.com for all the latest regarding Watkins and all of the visitors this coming weekend!
