Alford returns from Nebraska

Nebraska is only carrying two scholarship quarterbacks currently sophomore starter Taylor Martinez and redshirt freshman Brion Carnes. The Huskers already have one commitment in Cibolo (Texas) Steele Tommy Armstrong. It appears that the Nebraska staff is now looking for a second to join him. What did Anthony Alford think of the trip?

There were six official visitors in Lincoln this weekend and one of the most highly recruited and sought after was U.S. Army All-American, Anthony Alford. Alford's head coach, Steve Buckley, spoke with Big Red Report briefly today.

""He's already home," Coach Buckley said. "We played on Thursday night and he was able to get out to Lincoln on Friday and be there by lunch.

"He went to Lincoln with my son, we just paid his own way, and they were here at the high school with us for lunch today. We are preparing for the first round of the playoffs today."

One of the things that is concerning about this weekend for Nebraska and their official visitors was the loss on Saturday. Coach Buckley said that wasn't a concern at all to Anthony.

"No, didn't matter to him at all. He actually said that Northwestern played really, really well on Saturday. During lunch today with us he said that he enjoyed the game, enjoyed seeing the facilities and it was just a good trip."
