"I plan on sending in my NLI to Nebraska before my 9 A.M class," said Southeastern Community College power forward/center Fahro Alihodzic. "I am very excited to be a Husker officially and a part Coach Sadler's team and family at Nebraska. I am looking forward to joining my teammates next year. I have been playing well here at Southeastern to begin the season and I cant wait to bring that to Lincoln."
Alihodzic has only played two games this season, but the J.C. Product is impressing already.
"I had 20 points and nine rebounds in the first game (Culver Stockton) of the season. In the second (Moraine Valley), I had 17 and 12. We went into overtime and I hit the shot to tie it up going out of regulation."
Alihodzic started at Fordham University (Atlantic 10) during a freshman campaign in 2009-10 and averaged 4.4 points and 4.1 rebounds in 28 appearances. After seeing the coach who recruited him get fired and taking a medical redshirt last season (back problems), Alihodzic decided to transfer to Southeastern C.C.
"I am thinking ahead everyday - when I go shoot before practice or when I am in the weight room," said Alihodzic. "As a player I'm getting better everyday, so I can be the best player I can be and therefore being able to compete at the highest level in the Big Ten. I have a lot of work to do this season and really want to see Southeastern have a lot of team success."
Southeastern is currently 2-0 and is thought to have a chance at winning a National Title.
