Valentine hosts Nebraska

There were five very coveted recruits in Lincoln this past weekend, but there was supposed to be a sixth. The sixth was supposed to be Vincent Valentine a highly touted defensive tackle from Edwardsville (Ill.). Valentine missed the trip to Lincoln this weekend, but he said he did see Nebraska earlier today at his house.

If there was a disappointment about the recruiting weekend it was that Edwardsville (Ill.) defensive tackle, Vincent Valentine, did not make the trip. Valentine said because of the holiday he decided to stay home.

"I stayed home because of the holiday," Valentine said. "It was just difficult to get away. Nebraska told me that they understood. I will reschedule my visit with them for either late December or early January."

Just because Valentine didn't see Nebraska doesn't mean he hasn't spoken to them lately. In fact, Nebraska was by his house earlier this afternoon to talk to him and his dad during an in-home visit.

"Nebraska was here today. Coach John Papuchis was here about four or five o'clock and talked to my dad and I. We just talked about everything that has been going on.

"We talked about their team, my team, the depth chart at Nebraska, how I fit in with their scheme and stuff like that. He was here at my house for a while this afternoon."
