"Coach Tim Beck was here and left just about an hour ago," Armstrong said. "He was able to come and watch me at practice. He said that he was impressed by how I play and how the team looks right now.
"After practice he came over to my house and talked to my family and me. He is going to try and make it here with Coach Bo Pelini next week. They really want to get a bond going between them, me and my family."
Some of the things that Coach Beck, Tommy and his family talked about were Nebraska's year and the future of the Huskers. Armstrong said that there were some reasons for some losses down the stretch.
"We talked a lot about their season and the future at Nebraska. He said that they had a young team this year and that some injuries really hurt them.
"He said that some guys stepped up and some didn't...He did say they were looking forward to another quarterback in the mix."
This was the first time for a couple of the people in Armstrong's family to meet Coach Beck and he said that went well. The coach from Nebraska was able to explain everything to his family.
"My dad went with me on my visit to Nebraska so my mom and brother met him for the first time tonight. My mom really liked him and said he was nice. Coach Beck explained everything to them."
