Minor burst on the scene as a true freshman leading his team in tackles with 91 and has not let up since then, leading Chaminade in tackles from his middle linebacker position as a sophomore and junior.
The talented athlete also saw considerable time at tailback and is the team punter. As a senior he could see more carries and has very good skills running the ball for his size.
Brandon has been receiving interest from a number of schools and took several official visits during this past season. I got his thoughts on three of them he took.
Missouri- "It went well and I had a good time. I was impressed and I'm sure they were too with that blowout I watched on my unofficial. We all felt like we got the special treatment from the coaches who treat you like family.I've never had a front row seat to anything and being so close to the action was cool . I definitely wanna come back again . I could definitely see myself playing there. All my family and friends are two hours from the field and I'd already know people there, plus its just a great atmosphere."
Kansas State- "I was impressed with their presentation before the game about the academic and football history and things. The tour was nice and the fans are great. As far as the game I saw, they played well early just couldn't quite keep it up and lost . They're on my list."
Nebraska- "I had a great time at Nebraska. They had very modern displays and lounges which looked cool. They had an impressive weight program that they showed before and after results of and nice facilities because of the generous donations from Ndamukong Suh and Larry the cable guy. It was good game too with a sellout crowd.
As his recruitment heats up, Brandon is focusing on getting better for football. Also a standout in baseball and a pretty good basketball player, he has given up those sports and is busy working out several time a week.
"Right now I am busy in the weight room and doing speed training three times a week. I still play some basketball on the weekends in my CYC league, but I am totally focused on football,"he said.
Brandon plans on taking in a few junior days as they come up.
Analysis: Brandon Minor is a talented athlete with size at the linebacker position. He runs very well, has good athleticism (32" vertical) good hips and hits with authority. He can make sideline to sideline plays, drop in coverage and put pressure on the blitz. He may be able to play running back in a power back role or fullback on the college level if some schools were interested.
