Better late than never for Nebraska with Vincent Valentine. The Huskers have been after Valentine for the better part of a year and the fruits of their labor have paid off. The heralded defensive tackle from Edwardsville (Ill.) chose the Huskers over Illinois and Florida earlier today.
Vincent Valentine, a 6-foot-4 and 325-pound defensive tackle from Edwardsville (Ill.) announced earlier today that he will be going to Nebraska over offers from Illinois and Florida among others. Valentine might be the last piece of the 2012 recruiting class for Nebraska.
Valentine joins Aaron Curry in the 2012 recruiting class as being the two defensive tackles and join Avery Moss and Greg McMullen as part of a four, defensive linemen class. Valentine took his official visit to Nebraska on December 16th.
There is little doubt that Valentine has the size to be dominant at the DI level, but he will need to learn to play with better technique and leverage to be a force at the next level. Valentine could project to play either at the one technique or the three technique in Lincoln.
