Sooners come calling for Cox

After taking a trip out to USC this weekend for the Trojans' junior day, Chans Cox got big news on Monday.

The offers just keep coming for Arizona 4-star linebacker Chans Cox. On Monday, the Blue Ridge high school product received No. 8.

"I got offered by Oklahoma" Cox said in a text message to Fox Sports Next. "It's a great honor and I'm really looking forward to getting out there and meeting all the coaches."

This past weekend, Cox visited USC for the Trojans' junior day.

"It was great. There were about 200 kids there. It was crazy in the beginning, but it was nice to see how the coaches pulled me aside and really wanted to talk with me," said Cox. "I talked with the head recruiting coach and he wants me to come out to their camp later in the year.

"They said that if I come out, there is a great possibility that I will get an offer. They just want to see my footwork and how I move. They really seem interested.

"USC will definitely be one of my top schools. It's LA, it's right next to the beach. It's just great."

The 6-foot-3, 220 pound prospect finished with over 60 tackles and rushed for nearly 700 yard with 10+ touchdowns, despite missing time in 2011 with a shoulder injury.
