"Yes sir, I am visiting Nebraska (for Junior Day)," Cozart said. "I am interested in seeing their facilities, meeting their coaching staff, see the offense and how I could fit in. I also want to feel the environment on campus and check out the academics."
Cozart went to the Kansas junior day last weekend and came home with an offer. He's actually being recruited by his old high school coach that is now part of the new staff that is at Kansas.
"I was at Kansas last weekend. Coach Tim Grunhard was my coach last year and he's at Kansas now. He took me under his wing and told me that I would be his starter. He believed in me and he brought out the best in me as a player. He's really like a second father to me."
While Kansas has extended the first offer don't think that it will be the last for Cozart. He is receiving interest from Iowa State, Iowa, Kansas State, Northern Illinois, Nebraska and Missouri. "I had to skip Missouri's junior day last weekend to go to Kansas. I am going to try and make it there sometime soon."
Cozart was the Gatorade Player of the Year in Kansas last year as a quarterback throwing for 2,448 yards and 31 touchdowns. He added another 550 yards rushing. "Academics are very important to me and my college decision. I am also looking at the environment of the school and I want to feel at home. I need to feel comfortable."
Cozart is just one of many that will be in Lincoln this weekend that BigRedReport is aware about. There will be a list of all of the known recruits tomorrow and we will be following up with all of the recruits throughout the weekend.
