Parsons Excited for First Junior Day Visit

One junior day attendee who doesn't hold an offer from the Huskers, but does have a BCS offer to his name is tight end Mitch Parsons. Come inside to hear his story.

Nebraska's junior day is quickly approaching and many of the recruits are preparing for their visits this weekend. One of them, tight end Mitchell Parsons (Chaparral HS), will walk into Lincoln, Nebraska with an open mind as he tries to take in all that is going on.

"I will be looking at Lincoln as a town and the campus and just the overall vibe of the program. I have never been on a junior day visit so this is all new," said Parsons. "And my thoughts on Nebraska, well I don't really know much about them. I'm actually surprised that I got invited to their junior day."

Parsons, who recorded 634 yards and six touchdowns on 35 catches, has not any recent college interest since Nebraska assistant Barney Cotton visited his school earlier this year.

As for what he is looking for in a college, the 6-foot-5, 220 lbs. has his sights set on a school that exemplifies everything a football school contains.

"I'm looking for a college town and the atmosphere is huge. I don't want to go to a school where the college is just something that's happening," said Parsons. "And athletics are big too, I want to go to a school that's going to compete."

The Parker, Colorado native has received an offer from Colorado and has drawn interest from Oklahoma, Oklahoma State and Arizona State among others.
