Huskers' stock rises on Parson's list

Heading into Lincoln, Nebraska, tight end Mitchell Parsons (Chaparral HS) was unsure of what to expect during his junior day trip, but nonetheless, he was excited. When his first visit to Lincoln ended, the 6-foot-5, 220 pound recruit was very satisfied with what he saw.

"My thoughts on Nebraska improved a lot; I hadn't really considered them before today. But I never realized the tradition academically and competitively. And having the cream of the crop facilities helps too," said Parsons. "I would have to come back during the summer to see Lincoln to get a better view but overall it went up."

Catching his eyes at junior day were the state-of-the-art facilities and the Huskers' coaching staff. Upon seeing all of the amenities for Nebraska's athletes, Parsons was enthralled.

"I really like the facilities and the coaches," said Parsons. "The facilities were amazing, mind blowing; I was not expecting that at all. The coaches seemed really down to earth."

As for the town itself, Parsons described it as just "alright," but lessening the lack of appeal from Lincoln for Parsons was the academic tradition and facilities on campus.

Currently, Parsons has an offer from Colorado while drawing interest from an array of other Division I programs.
