Mattingly Receives Nebraska Offer

Danny Mattingly says he was "stoked," when Nebraska offered him this week. So when is he visiting? Come inside for the details.

The Nebraska Cornhuskers have made an offer to tight end Danny Mattingly (Mead Senior HS) and have already had discussions with him about where he fits into the system as a tight end.

"They have a great system and I know that I would fit right in in their scheme," said Mattingly, who also has been targeted as a linebacker by some schools.

After learning that Nebraska extended an offer to him, Mattingly claims that he "got right out of class" to talk to the Nebraska coaches. His excitement is definitely a good sign for the Huskers.

"I was stoked that a major powerhouse like them would offer me," said Mattingly.

The 6-foot-5, 225-pound prospect spent many hours exploring the Nebraska program prior to receiving an offer to Lincoln.

"Overall it's an awesome program. Even before the offer I spent a lot of time researching about it and loved every bit about it," explained Mattingly.

Now that he has received an offer from Nebraska, Mattingly, who has offers from Boise State, Oregon State and Washington among others, listed the Huskers as a top choice as it stands right now, but he doesn't want to put any school No. 1 right now before he begins making his visits.

So when will he visit Nebraska?

"Hopefully sometime this spring," stated Mattingly.
