Making the rounds

About two weeks ago Christian Lacouture, a defensive end from College Station (Texas) A&M Consolidated, slipped up to Lincoln and checked out what Nebraska had to offer. Lacouture is headed out of town this weekend and is eyeing at least two more trips before making his decision this summer. Where is he headed?

College Station (Texas) A&M Consolidated defensive end, Christian Lacouture, is getting out to check out some schools. He went north a few weeks ago and will be back out on the road this weekend and then might make a longer trip in a few weeks.

"I went up to Nebraska two or three weeks ago for a visit," Lacouture said. "This weekend I am headed over to LSU and on April 14th I am pretty sure that I am headed up to Michigan, but I am not sure."

Lacouture came away impressed with Nebraska, particularly with the people that are associated with the program both with the athletic side and with the academic side. He noted a strong family environment in Lincoln.

"I had a great visit (at Nebraska). We got to talk with Coach Tom Osborne and Coach John Papuchis and Coach Bo Pelini. It was really a great visit overall.

"I really liked the people that they have there at Nebraska. I liked how they brought up tradition at Nebraska. It seems very family-life, very family-oriented and I am looking for that too.

"The academics are there are Nebraska and I am very interested in that. I got a chance to sit down with the academic support people there at Nebraska. We went through everything. It was very impressive."

Another visit to Nebraska is not out of the question for Lacouture. He says that he is eyeing a summer time decision and catching Nebraska again would be something he would be interested in doing. "I might be able to stop by Nebraska one more time before making my decision this summer."
