Nebraska stops by

There are already two linebackers in the 2013 class for Nebraska, but you could see Nebraska taking a third recruit in the class. There is a lack of depth at the position overall and Nebraska will lose three players next year to graduation. So who was Nebraska checking on yesterday?

The Nebraska coaches have been out on the road during the evaluation period and yesterday they were at Westlake Village (Calif.) Oaks Christian to check out wide receiver Francis Osusu and linebacker Cameron Judge. Judge spoke with BigRedReport about the evaluation period and Nebraska stopping by.

"It's going pretty well," Judge said. "Tennessee, New Mexico State and Nebraska were just here actually. We don't start spring practices until May 14th so the coaches are coming back to watch us later."

Judge said that seeing three schools in one day was a bit surprising. The most that he had seen up to that point was a school or two per day.

"The three schools coming in one day has been the most that I have seen. Usually it's one or two, but not three on one day."

Judge is sitting on a double-digit offer total and has some ideas what he's looking for in a school. He says that the academics are big in his decision and he's open to any school regardless of distance from home.

"I am up to 11 offers right now. I am looking for a place that I can call home and I am also looking at the players, the coaches and the environment. Academics are big for me too. Distance doesn't really matter to me."

The Nebraska coach that was at Judge's school yesterday was the recruiting coach for that area. He has spoken with the linebackers position coach at Nebraska on the phone before in the past.

"Coach Rich Fisher was here today. He's the recruiting coach for this area. Coach Ross Els is the position coach and I have spoken to him before on the phone."

Judge says that he likes Nebraska mostly because of the style of defense that they are known for under Head Coach Bo Pelini. There is also a little bit of a connection back to Nebraska through his father when he was recruited in high school in Carson (Calif.).

"I like them because of the style of defensive play that they are known for. My dad was actually committed to go to Nebraska, but ended up going to Oregon when he was in high school."

Judge is completely open right now, but he is planning on narrowing things down in a month or so. Once he narrows things down he will plan on making some trips this summer, but he doesn't know where yet.

"I am going to going to narrow down my list by June or mid-June and I am going to try and schedule some visits over the summer. I haven't decided on any of the schools that I will visit this summer or if I will have to do an official visit to some of them."
