California RB to visit Nebraska

There was a need already in the 2012-13 recruiting class for Nebraska to get a running back, but after a recent transfer of another scholarship running back the need is much more important. This particular running back recruit was supposed to visit Nebraska for the spring game, but was unable to make it. He is planning on visiting now for Big Red Weekend.

Nebraska needs a game changer at running back in the class of 2012-13. Nebraska has targeted Terrell Newby from West Hills (Calif.) Chaminade College Prep as one of their top running back targets.

Newby is a a 5-foot-10 and 180-pound home run threat of a running back. Newby ran for over 2,000 yards as a junior, averaging just below seven yards per carry and scored 34 touchdowns. Newby had plans to visit Nebraska earlier this spring, but couldn't make it in. Now, Newby is planning another trip next month to Lincoln.

"Second week of June," Newby said of the Nebraska visit date. "I will be out there that weekend. I have always said that I will be taking an official visit to Nebraska this fall too."

This is the third known visitor for the Big Red Weekend that Nebraska is planning for June 16th. Newby joins Delton Williams from Erie (Pa.) Cathedral Prep and Darian Claiborne from Port Allen (La.).
