Appearing yesterday on the 1620 AM The Zone in Omaha, Omaha Central forward Akoy Agau talked about his latest offer from UCONN – a school he has always dreamed playing for.
"It's definitely exciting. It's something that's very special and something I have worked for a very long time.," said Agau. "All I can do now I will just keep on working and try to improve. "
Agau told Big Red Report in early April he was feeling pressure from Nebraskans to choose an in-state school like the Huskers or Creighton – saying it comes with the "territory." Now a month and a half later, Agau is still trying to decide if leaving home is for him.
"It's one of those things why I still haven't narrowed down the schools," Agau told 1620 AM. "It's a factor where I still need to sit down with myself and decide if I want to leave far away from home or stay close. "
At 6-foot-8, 230 pounds, Agau is a big presence in the post. He's currently playing with the All-Iowa Attack on the AAU circuit and was scouted last week in Frisco, Texas by Fox Sports National Recruiting Analyst Brian Snow.
"It was the first viewing of Agau this spring, and he left a definite impression. Agau is a big presence on the block who has some ability to score off of post moves, and then runs the floor well. An average athlete, he knows how to play and is creative in clearing space for himself. Also Agau showed a decent feel for how to pass from both the low post and the high post." - Snow
Agau is currently the No. 15 center in the Class of 2013 by Fox Sports Next.
