DeLuca lands first offer

The wait is over for Millard North high school linebacker/tight end Nick DeLuca. On Friday afternoon, the soon to be senior received his first Division I offer.

Millard North high school 2013 prospect Nick DeLuca received some good news on Friday afternoon.

"I got my first offer from Ohio today," said DeLuca, who is also being recruited by Nebraska, Iowa, Iowa State, and Kansas State. "Their recruiting coach Jimmy Burrows stopped by my school last week and talked with my coach. I didn't think much of it, but it turns out my coach told me today that my first offer just came in from Ohio."

As a junior, DeLuca was an All-Metro and All-State linebacker for the Mustangs. He recorded 91 tackles in 10 games in 2011.

"The first thing I did was call my mom and I told her she didnt have to worry about college tuition anymore," said DeLuca. "She was really excited and proud of me, as was my dad when I told him. It's a huge sigh of relief for sure."

DeLuca will camp with the Huskers this summer.
