It didn't take Nebraska long to mull over the possibility of offering Cali quarterback Johnny Stanton. The signal-caller from Santa Margarita (Calif.) Add a Nebraska offer to the growing list of offers for Santa Margarita (Calif.) Catholic quarterback, Johnny Stanton. Stanton was in Lincoln earlier this week and he's back out on the west coast checking out schools.

"We are driving to Eugene right now," Stanton said. "We are coming back from Corvallis where I picked up an offer from Oregon State. I was at Oregon earlier today, but I am going back tomorrow to talk with the coaches. They will all be there tomorrow."

Oregon State wasn't the only school to offer Stanton today. As stated before, Stanton was in Nebraska earlier this week for camp and the Nebraska staff told Stanton to stay in touch this week.

"I got an email to call Nebraska and I spoke to Coach Tim Beck from Nebraska around 3:00. He told me that they really wanted to see me run in the camp and watch my highlight film again before they offered.

"I really liked Nebraska when I was there. Lincoln is just a great college town too. I think that Nebraska has a good offense and that I am a good fit for the quarterback position. they are looking for a quarterback with mobility who can throw the football and that's what I can do."

Stanton is considered a three-star recruit by and is listed as the No. 42 quarterback in the nation. Stanton is also holding offers from California, Washington and Utah among others.
