After throwing at the Huskers' camp just a few weeks ago, Santa Margarita (CA) Catholic quarterback Johnny Stanton will be back in Lincoln on Wednesday, this time getting an in-depth look at the school.
"I wasn't able to see a lot of the campus or talk to any of the players while I was there," said Stanton on Sunday. "I have been texting Taylor Martinez because his brother goes to a school nearby. I am looking forward to talking to him about how things are there at Nebraska."
A three-star prospect, Stanton threw for 2,439 yards and 13 touchdowns with eight interceptions while rushing for 1,528 yards and 25 touchdowns in 2011, leading the Eagles to the CIF-SS Pac-5 title and the CIF State D-I title.
"I am going to go to USC earlier in the week before Nebraska and then I'm trying to set up a visit to Wisconsin on Friday after Nebraska," said Stanton. "Right now, committing isn't anything that I'm even considering. I am just going to take these upcoming trips and see how things go."
The plan is for Stanton's family to join him this time around.
The California prospect is considered a three-star recruit by Fox Sports Next and is listed as the No. 42 quarterback in the nation. Stanton also holds offers from Air Force, California, Navy, Oregon, Oregon State, Utah, and Washington.
