It was all about special teams at Montini High in Lombard, Ill Monday.
Top prospects from across the nation gathered for the Illinois Nike Summer Camp for kicking and long snapping camp run by Chris Sailer and Chris Rubio.
"The top performers for the Sailer Kicking camp were Overall Camp Champion and Punt Champion Nick Neidig," Sailer said. "The Kickoff champion was James Sherman a 2014 prospect."
"I am continuing to improve thats how I would put it," Neidig said.
Sherman might only be a rising junior -- but he is seeing his stock rise quickly.
"I have done pretty well out here at the camp today," Sherman said. "Not as well as I wanted to during the competitions but I did well overall, its pretty exciting."
There were several other kickers that came away with honors.
"The field goal champions were 2014 Ohio prospect Mike Knoll and 2013 Illinois kicker Andrew Harte," Sailer said.
"I think I Have done well," Knoll said. "I have been able to maintain a high ranking throughout the summer."
The other part of the camp, the Chris Rubio Long Snapping camp on hand went through an accuracy competition at the end of the Nike Summer Camp -- and two of the top players out wen't head to head in the finals.
"The winner of today's camp was Greg Hohenstien," Chris Rubio said. "He defeated Gabriel Miller in the finals."
Both advanced in a bracket competition by snapping through different targets, worth points.
Hohenstien is enrolling at Bowling Green for the fall.
"Today I think I have done really well, going into these type of camps its all a bout going in a good mentality and not being overwhelmed by hour competition. I just go in really positive and trust my skills.
His competition in the finals, Gabriel Miller recently committed to Nebraska and has had a successful summer camp circuit.
"I have been to three Rubio camps so far, this is the third," Miller said. "The camps have been very eventful and exciting."
