Linebacker Darren Hambrick (Dade City, Fla./Hernando) made only one stop this summer and that was to camp at Appalachian State. He's sure glad he made his way to the Blue Ridge Mountains.

"Man I loved it there," Hambrick said. "The atmosphere was just awesome and I loved the coaches. It's certainly a place where I would want to be at. They have not offered yet but since I camped there I have been speaking with those coaches a lot."

Hambrick said schools like Memphis, Kent State, and Western Kentucky have all shown interest as well.

"I think most teams want to see me play this fall," Hambrick said. "That's okay because I am ready for a big year. I am pumped for the season."

Hambrick, now 6-foot-2 and 225-pounds, spent the rest of the summer working out and rehabbing his ankle.

"I worked out hard and was just trying to get ready for the season," Hambrick said. "I had a high ankle sprain last year and it had been still bothering me."
