Huskers still in it for Lacy

Nebraska picked up a second offensive line commitment this past week, but there is room for at least two more in the class. The Huskers need to pull in a true tackle or two in the last spots and one of the top prospects on a few teams board, by his choice, is Kenny Lacy.

Phoenix (Ariz.) Mountain Pointe offensive lineman Kenny Lacy is back out on the field with his team mates getting ready for the upcoming season. Lacy said that his team has been out there for a week already.

"We started out fall camp on Monday," "We are getting used to it. It's pretty hot down here. We have had some pretty good days already."

Lacy says that he wants to go out for his senior season and just get better. He wants to help his team and in the end he wants to take his skills to college and play on the next level.

"I want to become the best player that I can be. I want to help my team win and I also want to help myself get to the next level."

About a week ago there were reports that Lacy was down to five. That's partially true. Lacy has determined who he will officially visit, but there are some teams that are still in the picture beyond those official visits.

"I am actually at like seven right now. The five official visits that I will take are Arkansas, Nebraska, Oklahoma, UCLA and Cal will all get official visits. Arizona and now Florida are still in there."

Nebraska has made the cut of the schools being considered and is on the shorter list of schools that will get an official visit. Lacy says that there has been a good connection for him with the Nebraska coaches and he has a good, personal connection back to the program.

"I like the coaches a lot at Nebraska. I talk to them a lot. My cousin Marcel Jones played there and he was drafted by the New Orleans Saints. I know that they make their players better up there. I think that it could be a good fit for me."
