Encinitas (Calif.) La Costa Canyon offensive lineman Scott Quessenberry (6-4, 272), has been working on whittling his list down, and he's got a list of schools that made the cut.

"I'm putting a list together and I'm down to seven schools now," said Quessenberry. "It's Nebraska, Arkansas, Cal, Washington, Utah, UCLA and San Diego State."

Quessenberry has also set up two of his official visits, while leaving the last three open.

"I'm going to take all five visit, but the last three, they're undetermined at this point," said Quessenberry. "I'm going to Arkansas for the Alabama game (September 15th) and Nebraska for the Michigan game (October 27th)."

Quessenberry said he's not likely to visit San Diego State and UCLA officially, given their proximity to home, but the last three spots will be settled at some point.

"I'm thinking if more offers come during the season from schools I'm interested in, like TCU, I'll maybe want to visit so I'm leaving those open for now."

Quessenberry said a couple of schools are standing out.

"Right now up at the top is Cal and Nebraska and then UCLA is right there," said Quessenberry.

Quessenberry has played every position for La Costa Canyon in his career, and will play tackle this season, but said his position in college has been set.

"It's going to be center for sure," said Quessenberry. "I went to The Opening and played center and it pretty much solidified my spot as a center."

Selected to the UnderArmour All-America Game, Quessenberry said he'd like to have a decision made prior to going to Orlando.

"I want to decide probably by Christmas but definitely by the turn of the New Year and most definitely before Signing Day," said Quessenberry.

Quessenberry and his La Costa Canyon team have begun fall practice and he's ready to balance his senior year, his football season and his recruitment.

"It's not as stressful as it was earlier and its definitely settled down," said Quessenberry.

Defensively, Quessenberry is also planning to play some nose and defensive end for LCC.
