Demetrius Knox from Fort Worth (Texas) All Saints' Episcopal is looking at a possible state championship contending team. Knox tasted it last year by getting all the way to the championship last year.
"We started our two a days last week," Knox said. "We are going to be really good this year and we should win state. We can't find a team to scrimmage us. I'm really just looking forward to winning state this year. We lost the championship last year and I just feel like this year is our year."
Knox said that this summer he spent a lot of time in the weight room. He wanted to get his bench up to equal his weight. "The number one thing I worked on this off-season is my strength. I weigh 300-pounds and I wanted to get it up to 300-pounds. I made it to 290-pounds, but I have time."
Knox said that the spring and summer has been a great opportunity for him to get out and see some schools. "I visited Texas A&M twice and I went to Texas, Baylor, TCU, Oklahoma and Oklahoma State. I hit some camps too and I hope I showed that I have earned what I have gotten."
If anyone is going to argue with Knox about receiving something that he shouldn't be it won't be the 13 teams that he's holding offers from already. "I have offers from Louisiana-Lafayette, Texas, Ohio State, Michigan, UCLA, Baylor, Alabama, TCU, Texas Tech, Texas A&M, Oklahoma, Oklahoma State and Nebraska."
Knox literally has two years before he will sign with a school, but he has given some thought to his perfect school. He says that there are some things that he's specifically looking for when it comes to picking out a school.
"What's important for me is the campus and the town environment and if I gel with the coaches. I want to have a great chance at winning a conference and a national championship. Right now I am kind of feeling a team that passes the ball a lot because pass blocking is just fun to me, but wherever the best fit is for me is where I am going."
Knox says that there are some plans for the fall to get out and see some schools and check out some games. There is one school in particular that he might be visiting soon. "I might hit up Texas soon and I am just going to go to some games this year all over and check out some things."
