"It feels good to be back out there," Johnson said. "Our team is getting better. We are replacing some key players at the linebacker positions with guys that redshirted. The new group is very talented though."
Johnson says that he worked on something this summer that not a lot of people consider. He worked on his eyes and recognition. The coaching staff at Hutchinson have big plans to use Johnson a lot of different ways this fall.
"I probably worked the most on my eyes. I believe that where you look your feet are going to follow when you are playing defense. I am going to be playing the three-technique in the 4-3 and the five-technique in the 3-4."
The season is right around the corner and Johnson says that he has thought about official visits, but realized that in order to set up the visits you have to have a list. Johnson says that he hasn't trimmed his list and that practices lately have taken more time away from recruiting.
"I am going to be able to make some visits this fall during the season. Getting visits set up or planned has been tough to get done. I don't have a top list of teams yet and lately two-a-day practices have taken all of my time."
One school already had a chance to host Johnson. This summer Johnson made the trip to Lincoln to see Nebraska and some might consider not returning on an official visit, but Johnson liked the visit to Nebraska and wants to take another look this fall.
"Yeah, I am a very big fan of Nebraska and how they are recruiting me. I liked everything about Nebraska when I was up there on my visit. I am really high on Nebraska with their tradition and their fans. I am going to take one of my official visits there."
