Shortridge excited about weekend

For the first game of the season the official visitor list for Nebraska has been a little fluid. There has been as many as four recruits that were supposed to come in this weekend, but now it's just two. This Florida DT says that he will be in Lincoln though as late as Saturday, but because of a game cancellation could come in on Friday now.

This was supposed to be a big weekend for Kyle Shortridge. The standout defensive tackle from Loxahatchee (Flor.) Seminole Ridge was supposed to have his first senior game this Friday and first official visit was going to be the day after.

"Our game on Friday is canceled," Shortridge said. "We had a lot of rain and a little flooding here because of the storm."

Shortridge was planning on playing his game on Friday night and leaving the morning after for his first official visit. It's possible that Shortridge could adjust his plans based on the cancellation.

"I am still going to Nebraska on Saturday morning. I am looking forward to the visit and seeing everything that the school and the town have to offer. Coach Rich Kaczenski has told me a lot about what Nebraska has to offer."

Shortridge is a player that initially committed to Wake Forest, but has decided to take a look around at some other schools. "I am looking for a school that has everything that I need to be successful. I want to major in physical therapy."

This fall, and last fall, Shortridge will be used up and down the defensive line for Seminole Ridge. "I am hearing that schools like me the most at the three technique. I play all over and am comfortable at all the spots. I have a quick first step for a defensive tackle."
