Carnes moved to WR

Nebraska quarterback Brion Carnes has been moved to wide receiver.

Lincoln, NE - Former three-star quarterback Brion Carnes is no longer a quarterback.

The Florida native was moved to wide receiver this week, after not making the travel roster as a quarterback for UCLA.

"You never know what may happen," Carnes told the Lincoln Journal Star. "I just want to get an opportunity to get on the field and just play."

At 6-foot-1, 200 pounds, the sophomore hasn't played the position since he was in youth football.

Carnes was the No. 47 quarterback coming out of high school in 2010, but only managed to play three games for Nebraska last season, all in situations where the game was not in doubt.

As a senior in high school, he throw for 1,200 yards and 12 touchdowns to just two interceptions, earning all-league honors.
