Official visitor next weekend?

Big news today for Husker fans and while obviously there is a blow to the current team there opens up a need, or makes a need a bigger need, when it comes to the defensive tackle position. There is a need for at least one junior college player at the defensive tackle position and this tackle has had Nebraska's eye for a very long time.

Hutchinson (Kans.) Community College defensive tackle Toby Johnson is looking at an open weekend next weekend. The highly sought after recruit says that he's given some thought to recruiting, but he hasn't come up with anything concrete.

"I have been thinking about recruiting," Johnson said. "And I don't really know. I am still considering all of the schools. Some schools have just popped up all of the sudden with new interest in me."

Johnson says that official visits are something that are also getting some thought, but even with a bye weekend coming up he's unsure about where he might take an official visit.

"I have a bye week this next week. I am considering going up to Nebraska and I have already visited there this summer. I want to see a good game day environment there. I need to talk to Coach Rick Kaczenski and Coach John Papuchis about it."

When Johnson does talk to Nebraska he will undoubtedly hear the latest news about another player leaving the team. This time the player is on defense and is also a defensive tackle.

"Yeah hearing something like that helps. It helps a lot. I want to go to a school and I want to play right away, but I want to play with other players in a rotation as a group. I would rather stay fresh along with the other players at the same position."

Johnson told that he would know by next Wednesday what his plans for next weekend were going to be. Nebraska is definitely an option for Johnson and we will bring you the latest.
