Huskers interested?

Omaha (Nebr.) North is off to a perfect start on their season beating Lincoln (Nebr.) Southwest last week. Casey Sayles is a standout on both sides of the football for North. North is chasing a state title and Sayles is chasing a DI dream.

Casey Sayles is a 6-foot-4 and 260-pound tight end/defensive ends with 4.8/40 speed. The standout from Omaha (Nebr.) North says that the team is off to a good start, that they are better this year than last year and that they can still improve.

"We are actually 4-0," Sayles said. "I think that we are improving and can still get better in every area. We improved on defense from last year. We are better in the fourth quarter this year too."

Sayles is a starter on both sides of the ball for North. He hasn't been as involved in the North offense as he would like to be, but on defense Sayles lines up inside and outside on the defensive line depending on the offense they were playing against.

"I am playing on tight end and defensive end. I only have one reception this year. I have been working with the offensive coordinator on getting more involved.

"On defense I am switching between the weakside and strongside defensive end positions. I will line up all the way inside to a three and then I will slid outside to either a five or a seven. It just depends on the offense."

Sayles is getting DI interest on both sides of the ball. However his only three offers are to play defense at the next level. Nebraska is keeping a close eye on Sayles, but he knows that there is another recruit that is in front of him.

"Schools that have offered like me on defense; I have offers from Ohio, Bowling Green and South Dakota. Iowa likes me as a tight end as well as Kansas State because they are full at defensive end. Kansas likes me on defense.

"Nebraska likes me on offense, but they are waiting to hear about another recruit in California right now. Nebraska was supposed to be at my game this past week, but couldn't make it because they had practice."

Sayles has taken one official visit and has another one set up for the end of the month. This past week he was in Lincoln to see the Huskers take on Arkansas State. Sayles makes no secret about how big an offer from Nebraska could be for him.

"I went to Ohio on an official visit a couple of weeks ago. I have another official visit set up for Bowling Green on the 29th. I was in Lincoln this past week. It's an amazing, amazing atmosphere. It's always been a dream to be out there on that field. It would definitely be a big offer. It would be a dream come true to go there to play football."
