Another Brown coming up through Southlake

When you hear about younger brothers of former Huskers you may or may not find that they play the same position. Kris Brown, a standout kicker from Southlake (Texas) Carroll was a critical piece to Nebraska's success in the mid-90s. Now, Nebraska fans are excited to hear that his younger brother is a strong legged kicker and supposedly visiting Nebraska this weekend.

Southlake (Texas) Carroll kicker, Drew Brown, will be one of the top juniors in the nation when it comes to place-kicking. Brown is the younger brother of former Husker Kris Brown and according to his head coach he has a lot of confidence in the young kicker.

"Brown is our starting field goal kicker," Southlake Carrol Head Coach Hal Wasson said. "He will be a two year starter when everything is done. He could be a our kick off specialist too, but we have a Houston commit there in Ty Cummings.

"I have a lot of confidence in Brown already. I know that he's just a junior, but in a game situation I know that I would feel just fine with Brown kicking up to a 50 yard field goal."

Coach Hal Wasson said that he couldn't confirm that Brown was going to be in Lincoln this weekend, but he said that it would make sense. "We are off this week. I know that his brother, Kris, still lives there in Nebraska."
