Knevel making the rounds

The offensive tackle position is one of the more important spots in the 2013 recruiting class for Nebraska. There are still some very good players that are considering the Huskers at the tackle position. One of those players visited another B1G squad this week.

Husker Nation had to feel pretty good about how things went for David Knevel and his recent visit to Lincoln. The offensive tackle from Brantford (Ont.) Pauline Johnson Collegiate and Vocational School went to Purdue this past weekend and came away impressed.

"I went to Purdue last weekend," Knevel said. "It went great. I really liked the coaches. I had a good time with them. I really like where the program is going. I spoke with a lot of recruits coming in and I like where they stand and what type of people they are.

"I had a good time. It was a good visit. I really thought that the connection with the coaches was genuine. I also felt a connection to their players while I was there. I really enjoyed hanging out with their players, with their vibe, and looking toward the future. It's really cool."

Knevel sounds like he's struggling to compare the first two schools that he has taken an official visit to see. Both are Big Ten schools and beyond that there is one big thing that the two schools are sort of built around and Knevel saw it at both schools.

"To me it's hard. They are kind of similar in a lot of ways. I like the people at both schools. They really set up the programs around the people. You can see it from both programs. I am looking for that so in my eyes it's really hard to distinguish between them both and see the differences.

"I got a better feel from the players at Purdue, but the overall feel I got from Nebraska was good. It's hard to say where I am at right now and who is ahead of the other. It's hard to say."

Knevel is back on the road next week to see a Big 12 program. After that he's trying to secure a trip to see another Big Ten program and there is a later November trip that he has set up now to see a PAC 12 program.

"I am looking at next weekend for West Virginia. I am also working with Wisconsin and I have set up a visit for Washington State for the last weekend in November. That is the first weekend I can get out there to see them."
